Mum made me a classic chocolate cake with cream filling. Very chocolately, very creamy, very ‘mum’ and very damn good.
Caroline tried a little fruity number (still talking about the cake here), a Strawberry cheese cake with masses of fresh strawberries sitting on a bed of creamy goodness, nestling in a delicious crumbly base with white chocolate chunks in - delicious.

Needless to say, both cakes were absolutely amazing. It was the first time I’d had two slices of cake for breakfast ever. I was ready for a kip by 10am that morning…

Oh and this is what happens when Mabel gets hold of a ‘cheap’ tennis ball. It literally lasted 3 minutes. Then she was bored.

1. It has to be festive. Normally I like to focus equally on Christmas and New Year, without any religious connotations. Yes, I realise its Christmas but Christmas has long been a concoction of various traditions. Besides, I send my cards to many people, not all of whom celebrate Christmas (!). However, I believe we could all do with some good-will and peace on this tiny rock we live on.
2. It has to be simple. The practicalities of making rather a lot of cards in one go should be considered. Some years I’ve had more complicated designs that are harder to mass-produce and with little time, the quality can suffer as a result.

Of course, if you’re on my Christmas-card list then you already know all this. Anyway. This year I went with a Christmas Tree theme. The thick stripes of ‘tinsel’ on the tree came to mind after remembering some 80’s album cover designs.

Wow, the XBox360 has a Karaoke title!

The upcoming game Punch Monster had some of the cutest characters I’ve ever seen.

The toilet was a new experience. No longer is there just a button for ‘flush’.

Heavenly Sword developers, Ninja Theory were also there to talk about development on the game and Andy Serkis just happened to pop in unannounced also, which was very nice of him. He gave a little talk on his role in the game and the importance of character performance within next gen computer games. Nice chap.

Anyway - to be perfectly honest I’m off to bed so here are a few snaps from the evening… And thanks to those guys at ThreeSpeech for the event.

The night wraps up with some friendly chit-chat and some magical tables possesing the very best in beer theft abilities (by the time I had finished taking this photo my beer [sitting on the table there] had vanished!)
