Spike was being exceptionally beautiful the other day, so I felt compelled to honour his blatant request for a quick photo session.
His favourite hang out this winter has been on the back of the sofa, which sits right next to the radiator. It gets really hot but he never moves. Sometimes he just sits there with his nose mere millimetres away from the hot metal. I think he likes feeling the of the hot air flowing over his nose.
It doesn't seem like it was 9 months ago when it last snowed in Brighton, but it did last April. This year when it snowed (considerably more than last year might I add), I headed out with all the other photographers to take some pics.
I was in Cornwall with Mum over the weekend. This morning, Mabel continued to dig up her mouse hole. At least, it started off as a mouse hole and quickly turned in to trench, with no sign of a tiny mouse hole anywhere.
Watching her is interesting, she sort of goes completely mad and blocks out everything else around her. One of the most distinctive things she does is stick her nose deep in to the earth, then blow out through her nose, before breathing in again, with her nose still in the earth. We ('we' being family), call this 'snotting'.
This is what Mabel sounds like when she's digging and snotting:

Anyway, here she is in action...
Mum gave her some bits of chicken afterwards. Look at that poonum...
Last week saw the arrival of the NCsoft billboard in central Brighton. The advert, for NCsoft, is up for 4 weeks at the top of North Road, which means it's up there during the Develop conference in Brighton.
This will be my first ever billboard, woot. Well - I say 'my' but the adverts' graft is essentially a 2 man job. Various ideas came up from discussions in the team, Will (fellow designer in the team) and I then developed suggested ideas to pitch internally.
The 'reflected worlds' creative got picked. Will and I set out to find a decent location for a shoot, which we then did the following week with Mat (our in house photograpy chap) and some suitably looking "Brighton" people.
Then the Photoshoping began, I got the initial composition sorted, tidied up all those horrible rusty railings along the seafront and made that water look a bit more inviting and all sorts of other tweaks. I passed it on to Will who did a fine job at sifting through the amends and perfecting the image to its final state. Done. Sorted.
I'm quite pleased with the end result. Will and I actually took some video clips of passers by to guage their reactions. Probably not the best idea that, ahem (it really is easy to forget what the average person knows about 'online games'). But still - the advert does what it set out to do: tell people that NCsoft are in Brighton and make online games. Woohoo. Pats on backs all-round.
Keep an eye out for the Bling Gnome we hid in there ;)
Just a quick photo from near Beachy Head, whilst out in Eastbourne this afternoon. Quite a nice day all in all, the sun was appreciated.
It's snowing! We might event get snowed in and not be able to walk up the hill to work tomorrow! Anyway, these are the best photos I could get without actually venturing outside of the centrally-heated 'safety zone'. I might actually get some decent photos later...
With just a few hours to go until 2008 arrives, here are some happy photos of Guillaume and Martin, taken in Amiens over Christmas (they're Carolines' nephews).
The handlebars stand still just for a second whilst I take the photo...
Oh and this is what happens when Mabel gets hold of a 'cheap' tennis ball. It literally lasted 3 minutes. Then she was bored.
